Aram Sei is partnering with TCF to support folks impacted by the floods in Pakistan.
Current Situation
Millions of Pakistanis are affected by the catastrophic flooding in Pakistan. Nearly one-third of the country is submerged by historic flooding (BBC News). Communities in Balochistan and Sindh have been hit hard, and other areas in KP and Southern Punjab are at risk. The rains have not ceased, and the impact of the floods is expected to grow in terms of its geographic spread as well as the intensity of misery it inflicts.
TCF has schools in hundreds of remote communities across Pakistan, which means the organization has deep local knowledge and an ability to mobilize relief in places that are typically forgotten, thanks to our faculty, staff, and alumni. This is the fourth time since 2005 that TCF is stepping up to respond to a national disaster.
Many TCF faculty, staff, and children have lost their homes and do not have access to food. TCF schools, if they are not flooded, are serving as shelters to families whose homes have been destroyed.
As before, the TCF family finds it impossible to witness this suffering from the sidelines. We are therefore creating a TCF Flood Relief Appeal to help address immediate needs and enable rehabilitation in the future.
Aram Sei Support helped TCF in their efforts to:
- 5 Million Units of Meal delivery delivered as uncooked food rations
- 9000 Homes reconstructed
- 100+ Schools rehabilitated
