Thyagaraja – Evolution of a Musical Saint
Saturday, the 28th of October 2017 was a special day for us! Volunteers of both Aram Sei and Trinity Center for Music woke up to a day infused with nervous excitement and feverish anticipation. The journey that we embarked on, about 5 months ago, titled “Thyagaraja – The Evolution of a Musician Saint” reached its pinnacle with a show that truly rocked! The beautiful voices that sang in perfect unison to the rich accompaniment of violin, veena and mridangam set the movie to life were orchestrated meticulously by Smt. Anuradha Sridhar. It transported us to a whole different time and era and helped us experience Saint Thyagaraja’s life and compositions.
We are extremely thankful to our patron, Smt. Anuradha Sridhar for the great vision she had for resurrecting this grand show for Aram Sei’s fundraiser for Father Frank’s Kids! The commitment, time and patience that she put into raising funds for our cause is exemplary and inspires us to do more. A very big thank you to – Sri Shriram Brahmanandam, Mridangam, Sri TN Arunagiri, Sri Guhan Venkataraman and all the students & parents of the Trinity Center for Music for all their hard work.
Aram Sei Young Ambassadors Fundraiser
The kids at Aram Sei drew inspiration from their parents and ran their own fundraiser during the Thyagaraja event. Each child made a different item and sold them during the break. They raised $150 by selling tasty banana bread, chocolate bars, rose milk and bracelets.
